In Scotland all eye examinations are paid for by the NHS!

From your eye test right through to finding the perfect frames and lenses for clear, comfortable vision, we will take the time to ensure that all aspects of your eye care are expertly looked after. Lloyd enjoys his job immensely and prides himself on his thoroughness.

Healthy, well looked after eyes can make a huge difference to your all-round well-being and the best way to maintain this is through regular eye checks. Using the latest eye examination technology, we can quickly establish the state of your vision.

We are committed to providing the very best quality when it comes to eye examinations and dedicate sufficient time to all patients to ensure the very best in eye care. A standard eye exam lasts for approximately forty minutes and the optician will use a range of tests tailored to your individual needs.

We also offer 3D retinal screening (OCT) to look in far greater detail at the health of your inner eye and identify a range of potential conditions. It is especially useful for early Glaucoma detection and early Macula problems. Regular retinal screening allows the optician to make year-on-year comparisons of the health of your eyes and easily detect any changes that have occurred. The charge for this more detailed testing is £25. Please know that you are under no obligation to have the OCT test as part of your NHS eye check, however Lloyd will be more than happy to discuss the benefits of this test with you if you would like more information.

It is important that everyone should have an eye examination every 2 years. A regular eye check is especially important if you are Diabetic or have a history of Glaucoma in you family.

Our eye tests can be booked over the phone, online or by visiting us at our South Street Practice.

For information only, the practice is closed for 1 week from Monday 11th October, reopening on Tuesday 19th October.  We’re all having a wee breather.

In the unlikely event that you have an eye emergency in that time then ALL local Moray practices have an agreement to help out patients in need, even if not normally a regular of that practice. A local practice will triage and assess your needs and give you an appointment as appropriate.

The practice will have slots available on the Tuesday 19th should something crop up when we are off.

Warmest Regards

Lloyd, Fran, Becky and Mark.
